Autumn's Empire Available Now!

 

Tent Show Troubadours went into Blast House Studios on April 7 & 8 and cut the basic tracks for their upcoming album. Bob Hoot (guitar, vocals), Doug McLeod (bass) and Tom Ellis recorded 12 original tracks. Then on April Jenniper Hylbert and Molly Lins added their vocal hamonies (and several leads). All sessions were conducted by Landon Arkens head engineer and vocal arranger. Add in lead guitar tracks by Gabe Burdulis and Chris Wagoner on violin, lap steel and accordion. Look for the release around June 1


Murder of Crows

Tent Show Troubadours released a 12-songs album titled Murder of Crows in July of 2017. Bob Hoot, Doug McLeod and Jenniper Hylbert are joined by Tom Ellis on drums, and Lindsay Everly on keyboards and vocals. Bruce Wasserstrom added some of his extraordinary guitar work to four of these tracks and Eli Gray contributed hand percussion. This album went on to be a finalist in 2018 MAMA Awards.

Rockin' The Hills — Back to School Benefit for MOM

The 2018 edition of Rockin' the Hills — Back to School Benefit for MOM was held 3-7 p.m. on Aug. 18 at Craftsman Table & Tap. Tent Show Troubadours, Blue Stone Madison and Tom Weber performed. Tom peformed last and enjoined the other musicians to accompany him and a fun collaborative jam was one of the highlights of the day. Elaine Bogen from MOM collected school supplies for MOM to distribute, and contributions for all their great programs. Craftsman T&T was a great host providing facilitites and hospitality. The weather was ideal. Great music, great food and beer for a great cause.

 

Capital Brewery — AAF Madison Summer Party

Tent Show Troubadours performed at Capital Brewery on Thursday, Aug. 16 as part of the AAF Madison Summer Party. Bob Hoot and Doug McLeod were joined by occasional Troubadour Harvey Briggs and the welcomed Hannah Klintworh (vocals) as the newest TST bandmate.We finished our set and then the storms rolled through and shortened the show. But the crowd was enthusiastic and 608 Sound and Light tech Steve Litscher was a trooper.

 

High Noon Saloon — Between The Wave showcase

Tent Show Troubadours performed at the High Noon Saloon on Saturday, June 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. as part of the Between The Wave Music Conference & Festival. Bob Hoot and Doug McLeod were joined by new TST bandmates Ron Vogel (lead guitar) and Mike Morgenthaler (drums). Molly Lins came back to her hometown from her current home in Nashville to contribute her amazing vocals. Molly appears on Autumn's Empire — the latest album from TST.

New Glarus Music Festival

Tent Show Troubadours performed at the New Glarus Music Festival 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 27 of Memorial Day weekend in downtown New Glarus. It was 97 degrees at 4 p.m. and TST played three hot sets. Bob Hoot and Doug McLeod were joined by Harvey Briggs and Eli Gray. Eli played his last gig with TST before embarking on his move to L.A. in August. Eli has been steady asset on the drums for our live shows over the last 18 months. Steve Litscher from 608 Sound & Lights helped us sound great.

 

Good Neighbor Festival

Tent Show Troubadours performed three sets from 3:30-7pam at the Good Neighbor Fest in the VFW tent on Saturday, Aug. 26. Bob, Doug, Jenniper and Eli were joined by Lindsay Everly on keyboards and vocals. Thanks to the VFW, Ho-Chunk Casino and Wisconsin Brewing for their sponsorship. Also, Gregg from Madison Pro Audio for making us sound good.

 

AAF Summer Party at Capital Brewery

Tent Show Troubadours brought the fun and music to the AAF Madison Summer Party at Capital Brewery on Aug. 15. Bob and Doug were joined by Madison advertising veteran Harvey Briggs on guitar and vocals and drummer extraordinaire Tom Ellis. Steve Litscher of 608 Sound made us sound great with the assistance of Aidan McLeod. Another gig with good beer, good music and good fun.

Rockin' The Hills — a benefit for MOM

The 2017 edition of Rockin' the Hills — a benefit for MOM was held 2-5:30 p.m. on July 30 at Craftsman Table & Tap. Tent Show Troubadours, David Irwin, and Lindsay Everly performed. We collected backpacks and school supplies for MOM to distribute, and cash for all their great programs. Nick and Ashley of Craftsman were great hosts and Elaine from MOM was there to oversee the collection. The weather was ideal. Great music, great food and beer for a great cause.

Tent Show Troubadours at the Hop Garden in Paoli

Things were hopping' at The Hop Garden on Sunday, July 23. Blue Stone opened, then Tent Show Troubadours and closed with Common Chord. We had a great time, great audience, great beer and great weather (storms went south of us). Thanks to Amy Sanborn for the photos of TST.

 

Concert & Picnic on the Greenway

Tent Show Troubadours played a 4th of July picnic concert in the greenway of Bob and Doug's neighborhood — just for fun. We thought the gathering was small, but then proplr from all over the neighborhhod told us how much they enjoyed the music. I guess the sound (and mix) carried a long way.

 

Make Music Madison

Tent Show Trio (+1) will be played at the Wisco (on Willy Street) 5-6 p.m. on June 21 for Make Music Madison. TST played a snappy 42-minutes set. This gig marked the first appearance of Eli Gray on drums. The +1 was Harvey Briggs on guitar and vocals. Harvey played with us in the days of The New Baldones and joins TST for a couple of gigs this summer to fill in for vacationing band members. Thanks to Harvey as welcome addition to this gig.

Accident Waiting to Happen music video at the Knuckle Down Saloon

On Nov. 2, 2016, the Accident Waiting to Happen music video for Tent Show Troubadours was videotaped at the Knuckle Down Saloon. Following the production, Tent Show Troubadours played a rousing set. A fun time has by all. Many thanks to Janna Johnson and her crew for the multi-camera shoot. (Also, congrats to the Cubs for their 7th game World Series win after the we wrapped that evening.)

 

REVIVAL EP now available

Tent Show Troubadours recorded fresh vocals and are remixed five songs from the days of The New Baldones. The songs are:

Vocals revisited at Blast House Studios

Oct. 2 — Tent Show Troubadours headed to Blast House Studios to record fresh vocals and guitars on songs initially released as The New Baldones. At least four... maybe more!?! (Could one of these end up on a music video?)

Strawberry Loop Forever...

Aug. 28 — Tent Show Troubadours had a fun neighborhood show in Strawberry Loop. All acoustic. Battled through the mosquitoes, but worth it to make new friends and lots of great food.

 

Rockin' the Hills at Craftsman Table & Tap for MOM

Aug. 6 — Tent Show Troubadours, the duo of Dave Irwin and Helen Avakian, and melodic rock trio Blue Stone played a FREE concert 4-7:30 p.m. at Craftsman Table & Tap for Rockin' the Hills — a benefit for MOM. Thanks to Craftsman Table & Tap for hosting Rockin’ the Hills. The performers all played wonderful sets and the the weather was perfect. The event was a great success. The upstairs and patio were at capacity for most of the event. The MOM collection barrel was overflowing and cash/credit card donation rolled in.

 

The Brink Lounge

Tent Show Troubadours appear at The Brink Lounge on July 23 playing three sets from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Thanks to everyone who turned out on a very wet and storm evening. We missed having Chris (drummer), but still put on a good show highlighting the great harmonies by Jenniper.

 

Club Tavern Show

Tent Show Troubadours appeared at the Club Tavern on July 9 playing three sets from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fun show, great work by John Masino sound engineer. Thanks to Moose and Mike and tall the folks came or tumbled in.

Blast House Studios Sessions

Tent Show Troubadours recorded 12 new original tracks at Blast House Studios on March 21 and 22. The tracks were mixed on April 5. Mastering and duplication are complete. Tangled Ways was released on April 27. Look for Tent Show Troubadours album titled Tangled Ways on iTunes, Amazon Music, CD Baby, Bandcamp and many more download and streaming sites.
